Inspired by Eleanor Antins '100 boots' project I set out to 'take a box for a walk'. Originally I wanted to take this in a more literal direction and document the box doing very mundane, monotonous tasks, and attempting to personifying the box, however I eventually came to the realisation that not only did these photos not look interesting, but, unsurprisingly it was extremely difficult to give a plain cardboard box, personality. Instead of making the task harder, realising that the direction I was taking the project was a bad one ,made me realise that using the box as more of an artistic focal point and making it a part of the photograph and its environment made the photos a lot better both in terms of composition and simply being a more interesting photo.
