Jamie Reed encapsulates the sex pistols' views on the monarchy and their 'fascist regime' clearly, Reed using the text to gag and blindfold the queen in of itself is clear enough in showing how the 'SP' feel about the monarchy. However despite the clear, blunt dislike for the queen, the text undermines her features and dehumanises her,  possibly linking to the pistols lyrics 'she ain't no human being' perhaps accusing her of being a puppet or once again just bluntly insulting her.  Reids choice to distort the British flag in the background fits with the 'SP's chaotic feel but once again could comment on the monarchs affect on and power over the country, particularly its negative affects; perhaps the flag could also represent the country's distorted past, particularly the way it gained its wealth, through stealing and leaching off less wealthy people.

In my opinion, the design works well on its own as a design yet is given deeper meaning when viewed as the cover it is. Reid has done a great job representing the sex pistols and their views here.
